Coconut oil for your teeth
Coconut oil can be used as a toothpaste. It naturally whitens teeth and can be ‘pulled’ through the teeth similar to mouthwash. Coconut oil has natural antibacterial qualities which when paired with the anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and acid neutralizing qualities of baking soda, provides a great toothpaste alternative. Simply mix a spoonful of oil with a spoonful of baking soda.
Pulling has been used for thousands of years for cleaning teeth and coconut oil is so ideal for this due to its antibacterial and anti fungal properties. Unlike mouthwash however, its 100% natural. To use, simply swirl a small amount in your mouth for about 15 minutes and spit to get the full benefit. Do not spit down the drain as the oil will turn solid again blocking your pipes!
Coconut oil also helps your body to absorb calcium and magnesium for strong bones and teeth.
